FESTA DELLA MUSICA 2022 – 140° ANNIVERSARIO DEL CONSERVATORIO ROSSINI DI PESARO
By Scuola di Jazz del Conservatorio Rossini. Orchestra e cantanti del Conservatorio Rossini, Daniele Rossi direttore
On the World Music Day, celebrated in Europe and worldwide every 21 June, the Pesaro Film Festival, in collaboration with the Conservatorio Rossini, presents a concerto for orchestra organized by the Jazz school of the Conservatorio as a tribute to Riz Ortolani, a composer from Pesaro and a world-renowned author of music scores for film.
I WRITE MUSIC
On the 140th year of activity of the Conservatorio Rossini in Pesaro, in collaboration with the Pesaro Film Festival, twelve major themes for cinema and television by Riz Ortolani will be reinterpreted by the Orchestra of young students and singers of the conservatory.
The imperative that guided Riz Ortolani’s career was “I write music,” indifferent to anything that did not concern the art of sound. An objective that ideally complies with the testamentary will of Gioachino Rossini, founder of the Pesaro institute, who asked the younger generations to engage in the composition of new music. The conservatory therefore honours one of its famous students who dedicated his life to the new art of music for film.
The concerto is introduced by a trailer of the film directed by filmmaker Marco Dentici dedicated to Riz Ortolani, and is arranged by maestros Gian Marco Gualandi and Massimiliano Rocchetta, who teach at the Jazz school of the Conservatorio Rossini.
