Special screening in collaboration with Associazione Nazionale Autori Cinematografici (Anac) and Cinema Solaris
with the presence of the director
The Italian Associazione Nazionale Autori Cinematografici turns 70. An important milestone for the history of one of the first European associations of authors, but also in the history of post-war Italy, represented with extreme variety of styles by the same directors and screenwriters who founded ANAC. The creators of this documentary – including Alessandro Rossetti, Alessandro Trigona who signed the screenplay, along with those who filmed the precious footage of the ANAC Archive now in the film – intended not only to celebrate the past, but also to present the new generations with the many battles fought by ANAC since its foundation on February 11, 1952: from censorship to the reform of the Venice Biennale, to that of public television, from private copying to fair compensation, to the fight against the overbuilding of Cinecittà.
A screenwriter and film director, Francesco Ranieri Martinotti follows in Ugo Gregoretti’s steps as president of ANAC in July 2015. He is one of the co-founders of the Venice Days and directs France Odeon, the French film festival of Florence. Since his debut at the Cannes Critics’ Week with Abissinia in 1993, he has directed several feature films and documentaries.
