Una storia per Emergency is a screenwriting competition, reserved for young women and men between 16 and 25 years of age, that confirms the humanitarian organization’s allegiance with the world of film to promote a reflection on the devastating social and health-related consequences of war and how to embark on a journey of peace.
Didier, a little boy of sub-Saharan origins, has a dream: to build his own boat… with pizza boxes. To help him reach his goal, his father Amir, a pizza rider for Mrs. Franca, every night brings home a pizza. But one night, while Amir is working, a rainstorm destroys Didier’s masterpiece.
Film director and writer Margherita Ferri was trained at UCLA and CSC in Rome. In 2015, she won a special mention at the Tonino Guerra Award with her film The Nest/Il Nido. Her storyline “Zen sul ghiaccio sottile” earned a mention at Premio Solinas -Storie per il Cinema 2013 and was developed at the Biennale College Cinema, winning the 2017/18 programme edition and premiering at the 75th Venice Film Festival. In 2020, she directed two episodes of the Netflix original series Zero, produced by Fabula Pictures.
