Resting on the Lazio beach known as Coccia di Morto, young African Kimutai is enjoying the sun by the water’s edge. His desire to spend just a normal day is interrupted by silly misunderstanding that kicks off a chain reaction of disagreements with the other sunbathers. Kimutai is thus obliged to find a new centre of gravity poised between reality and illusion. “I like thinking that Kimutai will find the courage to rebel and leave the metaphorical shoreline that keeps him trapped as though in a limbo.” (F. Federico Demattè (Trento 1996) moved to Berlin and then to London. Back in Italy, he published the novel Jennifer salta giù and began making music videos and commercials. His debut short Inchei won best director and best short at the 2021 Venice International Critics’ Week.
