Carlo Mazzacurati
LA GIUSTA DISTANZA
Italia 2007, 106’
At the presence of the actress Valentina Lodovini
An LIS interpreter will be present at the event
The Pesaro Film Festival remembers the late lamented Carlo Mazzacurati on the tenth anniversary of his death with the projection of this intense film that he directed in 2007, with the presence of the leading actress, Valentina Lodovini.
“The film’s charm lies elsewhere. Firstly, in the landscapes: Mazzacurati goes back to the places of his brilliant debut, Notte italiana (1987), and charts them again in hindsight. It is a dazzling north-east Italy, magnificently photographed by Luca Bigazzi, that conceals loneliness, resentment, repressed violence. It’s also about immigration, illegal employment, and the desire to run from a social environment that is as polluted as its river. … The two leading actors (Valentina Lodovini and Ahmed Hafiene) are amazing, as well as the cameos of three talents such as Fabrizio Bentivoglio, Giuseppe Battiston, and Ivano Marescotti.” (Alberto Crespi, L'Unità, October 20, 2007)
